Villa Agnese | Property for sale
Zone: Siena - Montagnola Senese
The property dates back to 1200 DC, which was originally a convent, immersed in the national park of Montagnola Senese, near the hamlet of Sovicille. This ancient village has a structure of elliptical shape, a testament to its Etruscan origin. Around Sovicille, there are many medieval towns, about 55, some of which have disappeared and other transformed into colonial houses.
The Montagnola Senese is one of the hills of the province of Siena, which is characterized by the presence of holm oak, oak and maple trees and chestnut trees in the higher areas. The subsoil, mainly limestone, is full marble, including the famous yellow marble, used in the past, from the thirteenth century, in the construction of many churches in the area and not only, also used for the Duomo of Florence and Orvieto.
The former convent, now used as a farmhouse with a large villa and three outbuildings, is divided into 11 apartments with a total area of approximately 1000sqm. Each apartment or cottage is equipped with one or two bedrooms, a bathroom with shower, kitchenette and a living area with a fireplace. There is a wonderful external barbeque area with amazing panoramic views. The beautiful large swimming pool is surrounded by sun terraces with stunning views over the 11acres of wooded land.
The isolated location situated on the top of the hill offers a spectacular view of the Tuscan countryside, while remaining close to the city and the main historical centres like Florence, Siena, San Gimignano, Monteriggione and the wonderful and famous Chianti hills.
